In mixer--beat butter, sugar and vanilla, add the flour. Place the crust in the pan. Prick the crust all over with a fork--this allows steam to escape so the crust will bake evenly. Bake until lightly golden brown on top and edges. 35 minutes or longer--takes longer in the airbake pan...didn't brown much Remove from the oven and run a knife around the edges to loosen the crust. Cool completely For the caramel layer: Melt the caramel and cream in a saucepan over low heat. Pour the caramel over the cooled crust and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up. For the Chocolate Layer: Melt the chocolate in the microwave using 10 second increments. Pour over the caramel layer and spread it. Return to the fridge til set. Cut and serve.
